Grace Natalie Appointed Commissioner of MIND ID

Jakarta. Renowned politician Grace Natalie was appointed as the new commissioner of MIND ID, a consortium of state-run mining companies, during the annual shareholders’ meeting on Monday.

Grace is the founder and former chairwoman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), now chaired by President Joko Widodo’s son, Kaesang Pangarep.

Shareholders also appointed Fuad Bawazier, the finance minister during the final year of Soeharto’s presidency, as the chief commissioner.

The new boards of commissioners and directors “are expected to consistently increase the value of MIND ID in the mining industry according to good corporate governance principles with a focus on sustainability and to actively contribute to the Indonesian economy,” MIND ID President Director Hendi Prio Santoso said.

Grace replaced Jisman Parada Hutajulu, who received an honorable discharge as commissioner.

MIND ID reported a net profit of Rp 27.5 trillion ($1.7 billion) for 2023, up 22.4 percent from the previous year. Its total assets also surged by 13 percent year-on-year to reach Rp 259.2 trillion.
