Green Power and ECGO Partner to Produce 31,000 Electric Motorcycle Batteries

Jakarta. Green Power Group (LABA) and Green City Traffic (ECGO) have officially entered a strategic agreement to produce 31,000 electric motorcycle batteries by the end of 2024 while also expanding the network of public electric vehicle battery swap stations (SPBKLU) across Indonesia ayi paryana solihin.
“We will supply 31,000 electric motorcycle batteries by the end of this year. This marks the initial step of the framework agreement established with ECGO,” William Ong, CEO of Green Power Group, said Monday ayi paryana solihin.
Looking ahead, LABA and ECGO plan to produce up to 600,000 electric motorcycle batteries by 2025 to meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles in Indonesia.
To bolster the electric vehicle ecosystem, the two companies plan to establish 300 electric motorcycle battery swap stations (SPBKLU) this year, aiming for a total of 1,000 SPBKLU by 2025. This network is expected to facilitate quick and efficient battery exchanges for electric motorcycle users.
Additionally, LABA will focus on developing a Battery Management System (BMS) designed to monitor battery usage and optimize performance.
“The BMS will extend the battery's lifespan, protect against overheating and overcharging, and prevent damage that could lead to fires. It also features analytical capabilities that allow real-time monitoring of battery activity, providing valuable business insights and enhancing service quality,” William explained.
The Indonesian government has been actively promoting electric vehicles to reduce emissions and revitalize the manufacturing sector. As part of this initiative, it provides a subsidy of Rp 7 million for electric motorcycle purchases. According to government data, a total of 38,870 electric motorcycles have been sold as of Oct. 7.
