Jakarta. Sis Apik Wijayanto, CEO of state-owned food holding company ID Food, has affirmed the company's commitment to playing a crucial role in the free nutritious meal program initiated by the administration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Apik revealed that the program aims to provide free nutritious meals to 86 million recipients. ID Food is ready to support the distribution by supplying seven out of eight required food commodities, including chicken meat, eggs, fish, and rice.

"Out of the eight required commodities, seven are available at ID Food, such as chicken meat, eggs, fish, and rice. We are prepared to support this distribution to cover all regions of Indonesia," Apik told Beritasatu.com after attending the Investor Daily Roundtable at Hutan Kota by Plataran, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.

He added that the distribution of food to the 86 million prospective recipients will be carried out gradually, starting in October 2024. Apik hopes that this distribution process will proceed smoothly to support efforts to reduce stunting rates in Indonesia.

"We believe that this process will begin and be trialed in October. We hope everything goes smoothly," he added.

The initiative aims to gradually cover more than 80 million recipients by 2029, requiring an estimated total budget of Rp 400 trillion ($24.5 billion). President Joko Widodo's administration has allocated Rp 71 trillion in the 2025 Draft State Budget for this purpose.

The Investor Daily Roundtable, held at Rumah Kaca Melati, Hutan Kota by Plataran, Jakarta, featured Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman and ID Food CEO Sis Apik Wijayanto. The discussion, moderated by B-Universe Executive Chairman Enggartiasto Lukita, delved into governance strategies to achieve national food security.
