OCTOBER 21, 2016

Jakarta. The Indonesian National Air Carrier Association, also known as Inaca, reappointed flag carrier Garuda Indonesia's chairman Arif Wibowo as its leader for the next three years to continue efforts at improving the country's airline industry, according to a statement released on Friday (21/10).

"Inaca is committed to comply with safety, security and flight service standards to improve Indonesia's airline industry," Arif said.

The organization also appointed Erlangga Suryadarma, Airfast Indonesia's director, to partner Emirsyah Satar as chairmen of its board of supervisors.

Inaca's 33 members also kept the composition of its board of managers, including TransNusa Aviation Mandiri's — operator of TransNusa Air Services — managing director Bayu Sutanto as head of scheduled flights, Whitesky Aviation chief executive Denon Prawiraatmadja as head of unscheduled flights, Cardig Air president director Boyke P. Soebroto as head of cargo flights and Tengku Burhanuddin as secretary general.

Indonesia's airline industry is having an eventful year in 2016 as local air carriers were given the go ahead by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to fly in American skies again. The European Commission has also lifted its ban on some of Indonesia's airlines, allowing them to offer flights to EU countries again.

Suprasetyo, the director general of air transportation at the Transport Ministry, said the ministry will support the industry with more deregulation and improving ease of investment and ease of doing business.
