Increasing Inbound Traffic After Idul Fitri, Congestion Spotted at Cipali Toll

JULY 08, 2016

Jakarta. Reports have said that the return traffic heading to Jakarta has increased with congestion spotted at the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road due to various factors including road constructions.

Traffic halted at kilometer 103 from Cirebon to Jakarta, where state news agency Antara reported queuing for seven kilometers.

Due to the bottleneck, a number of buses were moving slowly, surrounded by private cars which dominated the toll road.

Several traffic police and highway officials were seen observing the location, while the traffic was clear on the opposite direction.

Previously on May 26, West Java Police spokesperson, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said the Cipali Toll’s Km 103 had eroded due to heavy rains. The crack on the road spans 10 meters with a depth of one meter.

The peak of Idul Fitri holiday's inbound traffic is expected on Saturday and Sunday, with regular office hours in greater Jakarta area will begin on Monday, July 11.
