Indo Kordsa Rolls Out New Plant, Sees Sales Rising by 42%
Jakarta. Indo Kordsa — a listed company that makes nylon, polyester yarn and tire reinforcement fabric — on Monday inaugurated operations of its second plant in Bogor in West Java that it forecasts will boost its sales by 42 percent.
Indo Kordsa, a subsidiary of Kordsa Global of Turkey, forecasts its annual sales to increase to $271 million, up from $191 million now, Indo Kordsa president director Nuri Refik Duzgoren said on Tuesday.
For the new plant, it spent $100 million, which was the same amount for the first plant that was completed in 2012 in the same area.
The new plant produces 18,000 metric tons of tire reinforcement fabric and 14,000 tons of polyester yarns per year, becoming the largest Kordsa plant in the world. The plant employs 1,200 people.
Indo Kordsa exports about half of its products to many countries, with China, Japan and South Korea counting as its biggest buyers.
