Jakarta. The Indonesian Oil Palm Research Institute said on Monday it expects 2017 palm oil production to rise by 6.6 percent to 37 million tonnes, from 34.71 million this year.
Better weather conditions and new productive plantations will support production next year, Hasan Hasril Siregar, director at the state research firm said.
The Institute predicts a 2.3 percent drop in 2016 production from a year earlier.
