Jakarta's Flooding Will Not Incapacitate BRI's Financial Services
While the flooding in Jakarta cannot be resolved overnight, the economic activity within the capital is facing a huge challenge as the situation is beginning to affect daily business, including BRI. Around 92 BRI branch offices and 89 of BRI's ATMs are facing daily operational issues due to the high volume of water in several flood-prone areas such as Jelambar, Kemayoran, Cileduk, Semper, Kelapa Gading, and many more.
Fortunately, BRI still seeks to maximize its working capacity, especially in providing its services to the public. "Despite the flooding, customers have no need to worry as the bank will continue to provide solutions for its customers,” said Budi Satria, Corporate Secretary of BRI.
According to Budi, the bank will provide various e-channel services, such as BRI Internet Banking, BRI Epay, BRI EDC, ATM BRI, as well BRI-Link agent, that are available throughout the region. BRI is also directly involved in providing assistance to the flood victims by setting up emergency posts that also provides medical assistance to the people. The emergency posts have been set up in several locations where severe floods have impacted, that include Kampung Melayu, Kedoya, Jelambar, and Warakas.
BRI also donated 6 boats, under its BRI Peduli program, to help evacuate citizens and help workers who have been trapped in their offices because of the flooding.
"We also focus on providing food for victims during a flood disaster. BRI Peduli has distributed 1,500 grocery packages to victims so they can remain healthy during this trying time," said Budi Satrio.
