Kajima Indonesia to Work on Deep Foundation, Design for Apartment Towers at Orange County
Jakarta. Kajima Indonesia, a division of Singapore-based Kajima Overseas Asia, has been appointed to work on piling structure and design development for two luxury apartment towers at Orange County, a mega-development at the Lippo Cikarang industrial township in Cikarang, West Java.
Under the deal, Kajima will work on two towers, the Glendale Park apartment and the Newport Park apartment.
Both apartments are part the Orange County project, a development on a total of 322 hectares of land to cost Rp 250 trillion in total investment, which will provide 32-in-1 facilities, including luxurious residences, tower offices, a sky lounge, a cinema, an international school and a helicopter pad.
Glendale and Newport are joint projects of the Indonesian diversified conglomerate Lippo Group and Japanese giant trading house Mitsubishi Corp.
On Wednesday (07/09), at Kemang Village in South Jakarta, the Lippo Group, represented by Lippo Cikarang, and Mitsubishi, represented by its Indonesian arm Diamond Realty Investment Indonesia, signed the contract for the project with top executives from Kajima Indonesia.
Toto Bartholomeus, the president director of Lippo Cikarang — the industrial township developer arm of the Lippo Group — which handles the project, said Lippo and Mitsubishi are impressed by the reputation and experience of Kajima Indonesia in construction services, and are convinced it will deliver “the best construction standards” for the apartments it will develop.
Takashi Ito, a director at Mitsubishi Corporation Indonesia and the president director of Diamond Realty Investment Indonesia echoed Toto’s comment.
"We are upbeat, Kajima Indonesia will develop Newport Park into a quality apartment in Orange County," Ito said.
Newport will be the first “smart” apartment in Jakarta’s eastern corridor, featuring a retina access security system, smart lighting and a cutting edge lock system.
Stanley Ang, a director and chief marketing officer at Lippo Cikarang, said site survey and preliminary work on the site had commenced on Aug. 29, with deep foundation works scheduled to start from mid-September and super-structural works right after that.
"With investors and stakeholders from Japan, Orange County's position as an important industrial hub in the Jakarta's eastern corridor will be greatly strengthened," Stanley said.
The region is expected to get more infrastructure support soon, with a series of government-initiated infrastructure projects already being planned, including Jakarta-Bandung bullet train, a light rail service from Cawang to East Bekasi and a monorail called “Automated People Mover” that will connect seven industrial parks in Cikarang.
