Kartini’s Day at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta

Back in our history, women of Indonesia has to struggle against the stringent cultural constraint which impose obstacles for the development of women’s right. Life was never easy for women; they strived to have their voice heard. It was Raden Ajeng Kartini, born on 21 April 1879 in Jepara, Central Java, who becomes the leading advocate of women’s emancipation in Indonesia.

Hotel Borobudur Jakarta is proud to take part in the commemoration of the 136th Kartini’s Day, and join in this celebration for Indonesian women. The hotel attributes this year’s Kartini’s Day to all of its female staff as they are the equal members of the team who share the weight to the success of the company. On the day, all of the female front liner staff will wear Kebaya, a traditional Javanese costume, as an appreciation to Kartini’s hope and aspiration.
