Matahari Department Store Holds Designer Meet and Greet at Indonesia Fashion Forward 2018
Jakarta. Matahari Department Store, one of Indonesia’s most prominent retail operators, announced on Monday (09/04) that it will be holding a meet and greet at the Indonesia Fashion Forward, or IFF, on May 7 at Lippo Mall Kemang, Jakarta, followed by events in Makassar, South Sulawesi, and Medan, North Sumatra.
Matahari collaborated with young Indonesian fashion designers at the IFF, an incubation program established to mentor would-be Indonesian designers since 2012 as part of an initiative with Jakarta Fashion Week in partnership with the British Council and the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency.
This year, Matahari collaborated with Restu Anggraini, Norma Hauri and Rani Hatta to feature their work at Matahari’s outlets. The partnership hopes to present more opportunities for young designers to showcase their work and earn their mark in the industry.
At the meet and greet, attendees can get to know more about the collection that these young designers have to offer, the ideas behind them and how they were made.
Restu Anggraini is known for minimalist designs and soft natural tones to her work.
Norma Hauri’s design features a more modest and conservative style, while Rani Hatta’s line also features a collection of modest choices, yet with a sporty twist.
The Matahari x IFF collection will be available at the meet and greet event, as well as at 70 other outlets across Indonesia, at prices ranging from Rp 150,000 to Rp 600,000 ($45).
The Jakarta Globe and Matahari Department Store are affiliated with the Lippo Group
