Matahari Wins Big at the Economic Review Awards 2018

Jakarta. Matahari Department Store, one of Indonesia’s largest retail chain stores, received two awards at the Economic Review Awards 2018.

On Friday (13/04), Matahari received a platinum award, first place for Indonesia Sales and Marketing Award (ISMA) 2018 and received a top ten place for all categories.

It also received a gold award for second place for the Indonesia Legal Award (ILA) 2018 in the "company" category.

The awards were given out by the Economic Review Magazine in partnership with Ideku Group, Frontliner Services, Binus University Business School, Perbanas Institute and the Indonesia-Asia Institute on the panel of judges.

"We have to keep adapting to the dynamic changes in the business landscape, and Matahari strives to keep up with these changes so we can continue to satisfy our customers," a Matahari representative said in a press release on Monday.

"The world is ever-changing, for better and for worse. One of the most significant changes we’ve seen is the growth of the digital sphere, and the increasing influence it has on our daily lives."

Matahari’s business model has seen quite a few changes according to the press release, including by embracing a more soft-selling approach to marketing, seeing success in its new "Feel Good" tagline, appealing to old customers and new ones.

Matahari Department Store currently operates 154 stores across 73 cities in Indonesia, and offers merchandise both offline and online through the MatahariStore.com.
