OJK, IDX Hold Three-Day Stock Market Exhibition in Surabaya

Jakarta. Potential investors will be encouraged to put their money into Indonesia's stock market during the three-day Investor Summit and Capital Market Expo that started in Surabaya, East Java, on Thursday (18/08).

The event, organized by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Indonesian Stock Market Clearing House (KPEI), Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) and Financial Service Authority (OJK), hopes to attract at least 1,000 visitors per day to the venue at Grand City Mall and Convex Surabaya.

Beside the exhibition of financial products from listed companies and brokerage firms, the event will also feature presentations by major listed companies, the IDX said in a statement.

Among those that will provide financial updates at the event are East Java regional lender Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur, cigarette producer Gudang Garam, coal miner Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam, taxi operator Express Transindo Utama and hospital operator Mitra Keluarga Karya Sehat.

This sixth annual event will also showcase a talk show related to the financial sector and entrepreneurs, such as Achmad Zaky, the chief executive of e-commerce marketplace Bukalapak; Adikoesoemo Haryanto, president director of logistics company AKR Corporindo; and Islamic finance expert Adiwarman A. Karim.
