PaySec Expands Services by Adding KinerjaPay, Intrajasa As New Partners
Jakarta. PaySec Indonesia, the local arm of global payment service provider PaySec International, expanded its services in Indonesia after forging cooperations with two new local partners.
In a deal announced on Wednesday (21/9), PaySec Indonesia is set to cooperate with KinerjaPay, a Medan-based startup that provides e-wallet service and online marketplace platform, and Intrajasa, a Jakarta-based company focusing on remittance service.
“We are looking to expand our portfolio of investment in the region as we see a great potential in Indonesia. It encouraged us to establish PaySec Indonesia, open our office branch and build partnership with these two companies," PaySec chief executive Richard Barry said.
Through this partnership, Kinerja users can access its online market place and pay transactions using PaySec system as its payment gateway. PaySec's technology is now available for merchants in Thailand, China and Indonesia.
Prospective merchants must contact PaySec customer services to sign up to the service.
“This is the key to tap into Indonesian e-commerce market, which has a large number of unbanked citizens,” KinerjaPay chairman and founder said Edwin Ng during the press conference on Wednesday.
The startup is eyeing to more than double its transaction volume to around 4,000 to 5,000 transactions per month from a current 2,000 per month. KinerjaPay has around 60,000 active users.
Kinerjapay, which was established in 2015, provides e-wallet service as well as online marketplace platform. Customers can buy a wide range of products, including accessories, electronic vouchers, food and beverages, and many more.
The service is available through its website and mobile application in GooglePlay.
For Intrajasa, the cooperation will allow its customers to send money overseas via debit card through PaySec system.
The cooperation will allow money transfers to automated teller machines of more than 90 commercial lenders in Indonesia which have established cooperations with Intrajasa.
"PaySec do not have license to operates service for money transfer, that is why we established partnership with them," Intrajasa chief executive Milasari Anggraini said.
Intrajasa has previously specialized in remittance services. The company obtained licensing from Bank Indonesia in 2013 allowing domestic and international money transfers.
The cooperation is not the first for PaySec Indonesia. It has previously forged cooperations with the e-wallet services of some local banks and telecommunication companies like Mandiri Clickpay, BRI MoCash, XL Tunai and Indosat Dompetku.
PaySec International was founded in 2014 in Malta but now has headquarter in the Philippines.
