Pertamina Appoints New Spokesman

MARCH 24, 2017

Jakarta. State-owned energy company Pertamina appointed Adiatma Sardjito as vice president of corporate communications on Friday (24/03), replacing Wianda Arindita Pusponegoro.

"The government has given Pertamina many tasks to be completed through several projects, both upstream and downstream, in a bid to support energy independence," Adiatma said. "I wish for the support."

Adiatma previously worked as corporate secretary of Pertamina Gas, the company's subsidiary in the midstream sector, and in the downstream gas industry since April 2015.

Wianda, on the other hand, will remain at Pertamina as a technical expert and strategic advisor under the directorate of finance and company strategy.

Adiatma's appointment came only days after the company replaced Dwi Soetjipto with Elia Massa Manik as president director due to a leadership conflict with his deputy, Ahmad Bambang. Elia, who previously headed state-owned plantation company Perkebunan Nusantara III, was named president director on March 16.

At his appointment, Elia said he wants "things to be open" and he would push Pertamina to support Indonesia's goal of energy independence.
