Pertamina Testing Pertamax Turbo for Indonesian Market
Manado, North Sulawesi. State energy company Pertamina plans to offer Pertamax Turbo, a new high-octane fuel aimed at Indonesian sports car enthusiasts. The new fuel will have a higher octane level (RON 98) than Pertamina's current top-of-the-rank fuel Pertamax Plus (RON 95).
Pertamina's marketing and commercial director Ahmad Bambang said Pertamax Turbo will offer the best performance available in Indonesia.
Pertamina has been testing the new fuel in Europe, using it in luxury sports cars including various Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche models.
"We've been doing trials in Europe for two weeks already," Bambang said last week. "After three months, if the results are good, we will start selling Pertamax Turbo in Indonesia."
According to Bambang, Pertamax Turbo will likely be priced at more than Rp 10,000 (75 cents) per liter.
