PGN, PLN, Pos Indonesia and PNRI Fund Electrification in Bogor
Jakarta. State-controlled gas distributor Perusahaan Gas Negara along with state utility company Perusahaan Listrik Negara, state postal service company Pos Indonesia and state printing company Percetakan Negara Republik Indonesia, signed a cooperation agreement to install electricity at 2,000 poor households in Bogor, West Java.
The cooperation agreement was signed by PLN's Central Java regional business director Amir Rosidin, PGN director of general affairs and human resources Desima Siahaan, Pos Indonesia's director of network and financial services Ihwan Sutardiyantai and PNRI president director Djakfarudin Junus at the Ministry of State Enterprises on Tuesday (07/08).
"The SOEs have agreed to work together and ensure that everyone has access to electricity soon," PGN company secretary Rachmat Hutama said in statement on Wednesday.
Rachmat said the Free Power Connection Program is part of the ministry's agenda to provide electricity to the less fortunate.
In previous years, the ministry has conducted similar programs in 34 provinces, creating 9,114 new electricity connections.
In an appointment letter from the ministry, dated Aug. 6, PGN was assigned to help improve electrification in Bogor district.
In this collaboration, each of the state-owned companies has its own task. PLN has to submit a list of households to be electrified. Pos Indonesiais will provide escrow account services to the program's beneficiaries to cover the cost of installation and other fees. PNRI is tasked with producing certificates for acrylic panels used in these installations.
