PP Snaps Up Hanwha Precast Tech to Support Jokowi's One Million Homes Program

OCTOBER 06, 2016

Jakarta. State controlled construction company PP has signed a deal with South Korean engineering firm Hanwha Engineering & Construction Corporation to build 170,000 units of affordable homes in Indonesia in the next five years.

The project will use the Korean company's precast concrete technology.

PP president director Tumiyana and Hanwha's vice president director Chui-Soo Choi signed the memorandum of understanding for the project in Jakarta on Thursday (06/10).

"This partnership shows PP's commitment to support the one million homes program launched by President Joko Widodo. We want to help low-income families get a proper shelter," Tumiyana said.

Under the agreement, PP's subsidiary PP Pracetak will produce the construction material under Hanwha's supervision.

Hanwha is one of the largest precast engineering and construction companies in South Korea. One of the major projects it has undertaken lately is the construction of 100,000 homes in Bismayah, Iraq.
