Jakarta. Global investment firm GIC Private and Indonesian conglomerate Rajawali Group opened a new integrated business center, alongside the Four Seasons hotels' Capital Place, which opens from Monday in South Jakarta, the company said in its statement on Thursday (23/06).
The business center, located on busy Gatot Subroto, is built on 9 hectares and features two towers — the premium grade office and 20-storey hotel — consist of a deluxe restaurant and the connecting podium of retail outlets.
“Capital Place is the culmination of our vision and commitment to elevate the work environment where business is conducted into a luxury lifestyle,” said Shirley Tan, the chief executive of Rajawali Property Group.
The building replaced the St. Regis hotel, which was also controlled by Peter Sondakh's Rajawali Group, and marks a new location of Four Seasons hotels, which was previously located on Jl. HR. Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta. The building had been closed for renovation since 2014.
The business center boasts a strategic location as it is nearby the Sudirman Center Business District (SCBD) and Mega Kuningan in South Jakarta, while also has easy access to public transportation, such as TransJakarta, buses and taxis.
“This is the first development in Jakarta where Four Seasons hotel services are extended to also caters the employees, businessmen, businesswomen in the office tower,” Shirley added.
The Singaporean-based, GIC Private Limited was established in 1981 — previously known as the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation — is one of the world's largest fund management companies, specializing partly in real estate and private equity. It previously served the Singapore government in managing the country's foreign reserves.
The Four Seasons hotels was founded in 1960 and currently operates 98 hotels, resorts and residences in the world's major cities and destinations in 41 countries. Four Seasons has been established in Indonesia for 20 years.
The Jakarta-based Rajawali Group is the investment holding company operating in several sectors, including plantation, mining, hotel, property and transportation. It was founded in 1984, and is known for controlling Express Taxi and Sheraton Hotel in Indonesia.
