Siloam Hospitals Gets Three Permits to Build Clinics in Samarinda, Semarang
Jakarta. Siloam International Hospitals, the health care unit of property developer Lippo Karawaci, has secured three permits to open clinics under Siloam Medika brand in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, and Semarang, Central Java, the company's top executive said.
Romeo F Liedo, Siloam International Hospitals president director, said the company hopes to get another six permits to build Siloam Medika clinics in the second quarter this year. The investment for each clinic will cost around $3 million.
"Last year, we tried to acquire two hospitals. However, the economic condition was not quite good at the time so we held it," Romeo said in recent interview.
Previously, the listed hospital operator said it has set aside up to $110 million in capital expenditure this year to equip seven hospitals and 13 Siloam Medika clinics with up-to-date medical instruments.
As of the end of 2015, Siloam Hospitals operates 20 hospitals across 14 cities in Indonesia with the capacity of 4,800 beds and supported by 2,100 doctors and 8,200 nurses.
The company targets to have 10,000 beds in 50 hospitals across 25 cities in 2017 to cater the high demand for health care. Siloam Hospitals targets to have 15 million patients in 2017, more than sevenfold of today's 2 million patients.
The Jakarta Globe and Siloam are affiliated with Lippo Group.
