STP Bali Hosts World Conference on Business and Management
Jakarta. The Bali Tourism Academy, or STP Bali, has been appointed to host the World Conference on Business and Management and the Global Great Debate on July 5-8 in Nusa Dua.
The head of STP Bali, Dewa Gede Ngurah Byomantara, said the international conference will focus on theories and interdisciplinary business practices for global welfare.
"There will be 300 delegations from 30 countries. They will have an opportunity to hear and discuss the new business paradigms, share the latest findings, and to study the future business perspectives. We are proud to become the host," Byomantara said in a statement on Thursday (08/06).
He added the Global Great Debate, or GGD, on prosperity and business management will see several speakers from renowned universities, including Martin Lusticky from the Prague University of Economics in Czech Republic, Pat Obi from the Northwest University in the United States, Sourav Ray of McMaster University in Canada, and Sen Sendjaya from Monash University in Australia.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya praised the event organizers saying that MICE (meetings incentives, conferences and exhibitions) is a promising part of the tourism industry.
"The more MICE activities are held, the faster our industry will develop, which is also beneficial for our educational sector," he said.
Indonesia has already hosted several international MICE events, including the Asean Summit in 2011, Asean Tourism Forum in 2012, the APEC Summit in 2013, the World Economic Forum in 2015, the 60th Commemorative Asian-African Conference in 2015, and the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in 2016.
