Telkom Continues Relief Efforts in Lombok

Jakarta. State-owned telecommunications company Telkom Indonesia in keeping a close eye on its infrastructure and services after a series of earthquakes hit Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
Telkom's services were disrupted by broken infrastructure, but most of it has already been repaired.
"Ten backbone links and Metro Ethernet are functioning normally now because we have rerouted connections through the Ende - Maumere and the Bima - Maumere - Makassar link. Meanwhile, disconnected links are currently being repaired," Telkom vice president of corporate communication Arif Prabowo said on Thursday (23/08).
Telkom is keeping a close eye on the repairs. The company has deployed a crisis management team to monitor the process and help distribute aid for the earthquake victims.
"There's still a lot seismic activity in Lombok, that's why Telkom Group is continually monitoring the conditions in the field. We're doing our best to ensure that the earthquake victims and our personnel have means to stay in touch with their families," Arif said.
Together with other state-owned companies, Telkom has established several relief posts and helped provide access to clean water in various locations.
Telkom has also established an online donation gate through Finpay.
Telkom director of enterprise and business service Dian Rachmawan said the digital donation option would help streamline the relief effort.
"Donations received through Finpay will be channeled to the main command post of the Regional Disaster Management Agency [BPBD] and to state enterprises' Present for the Nation post, so that the help would go to those who need it most," Dian said.
Would-be donors can access this link to donate. Payment options include ATM, internet/SMS banking, TCASH and credit cards, and can also be made at post offices, Pegadaian, Alfamart and Indomaret.
