Telkom Successfully Presents Hackathon Merdeka 2.0 Grand Final

After successfully holding the Hackathon Merdeka 2.0 on 24-25 October 2015, the grand final is now held in Jakarta Digital Valley (JakDiva) on 15 November 2015. With a number of 1,700 participants from 28 cities, about 70 finalist apps was born, following the judging process in the ground final today.

The Final Judging is combined with the concept of the exhibition so that the public can also witness the presentation of solutions that have been prepared by the finalists. The theme mostly focuses on the issue of data population, licensing issues, education, employment, security, natural disasters, crime and community services.

Hackathon Merdeka 2.0 is a collaboration between the Community of Information Technology (TI) Code4Nation with Telkom. This program is regarded as on of the attempt in taking advantage from technology solve various national issues.

With more recent and accurate data, the government is expected to take a more strategic policy. The Methods of data collection from Hackathon is different from the data collected by the government, which mostly uses crowdsourcing (mass-based data collection).

This program is expected to be the starting point of the community in which IT can contribute more to the country so that more talents (IT specialists) in Indonesia can provide a solution to the nation's problems. This event reflects the good synergy between the government, community and IT Startup industry

"Telkom took the initiative to support the event of Hackathon Merdeka 2.0 due to our commitment to growing the digital creative industry in Indonesia, in which the theme of Hackathon 2.0 this time focus in solving the nation's problems through various applications," explained Indra Utoyo, Director of Innovation and Strategic Portfolio Telkom.

Through Telkom's support in the provision of facilities and infrastructure, the Hackathon Merdeka 2.0 has been successfully held in 28 cities such as Bandung, Toba, Medan, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Belitung, Tangerang, Depok, Bogor, Bandung, East Priangan, Cirebon, Banyumas, Wonosobo, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Pontianak, Balikpapan, Makassar, Mamuju, Manado, Denpasar, Sumbawa, Ambon, Jayapura, Sydney ,

Telkom continues to grow the ecosystem of the development of a coherent national digital innovation as a solution to various problems in Indonesia while also developing the digital business ecosystem and improve the dynamics of the national economy through the development of creative economy. The development of digital business is conducted through the digital coaching of young entrepreneurs (startups) through incubation and acceleration patterns.

Located in Jakdiva, Multimedia Tower, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, various activity is routinely done through the sharing of various digital communities, which examines the latest information, inspiration, and best practice. As one form of business acceleration, Jakdiva also conducted various training and mentoring and coaching. Coherence product development is done by optimizing the various platforms available in the Telkom Group to improve the efficiency and capability of the product. For example by utilizing the cloud, big data analytics, various methods of payment, and customer management.
