Truck Fees Lowered on Cipali Toll Road Until May
Jakarta. Toll road operator Lintas Marga Sedaya has cut the toll fee for the West Java Cikopo-Palimanan, known as Cipali, by 28 percent until May 8 in a bid to lure truck drivers, the company's executive said in a statement on Friday (08/04).
The rates are cut to Rp 110,000 ($8) from the previous Rp 144,000 for trucks with two axles and to Rp 210,000 from the previous Rp 288,500 for five-axle trucks.
Lintas Marga Sedaya vice president director Hudaya Arryanto said LMS will consider extending the program if it proves to provide benefits to truck drivers and logistic businesses.
Cipali toll provides a shorter alternative route for truckers and logistic companies to Java's northern coastal high Pantura — which is free of charge, but often under maintenance or choked by traffic congestion.
The Cipali toll road, meanwhile, is 40 kilometers shorter and can cut travel time by up to two hours compared to the Pantura highway.
Hudaya said the company hopes the program will notify drivers that using the toll road connecting Cikopo and Palimanan cities is both faster and more fuel efficient.
