Jakarta. A slew of famous public figures including actress Dian Sastrowardoyo and singer Afgan have lent their voices to the Qur'an Indonesia Project, a new initiative to distribute digital recordings of Koran verses.
There are currently more than 150 contributors—many of them young celebrities—who have recorded their Koran readings for the project. Apart from Dian and Afgan, the project has also invited singers Andien and Tulus; actors Irwansyah and Acha Septriasa; and presenters Zivanna Letisha and Tasya Kamila.
The project also encourages listeners to send in their own audio recordings in a special program dubbed #QIPMyContribution. They can choose from a list of 934 Koran verses on the website.
On Instagram, the project invites followers to participate in a 30-day photo challenge, during which they can post a photo following a daily theme throughout Ramadan.
