Jakarta. Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia will offer two new domestic routes from Bandung in West Java to Lampung on Sumatra Island and Surabaya in East Java starting from Aug. 29, the airline said in a statement on Sunday.

Both flights will depart from Bandung's old airport, Husein Sastranegara.

Garuda will use an ATR 72-600 plane with a capacity of 70 passengers on both routes, which will be available once a day, seven days a week.

The airline hopes the new routes will boost tourism in the three cities.

"We offer the new Bandung-Surabaya route in response to customers' demand," Garuda marketing director Pikri Kurniansyah said.
