Grab a Ride From Grab at Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo
Jakarta. Southeast Asia's leading ride-hailing app Grab announced on Friday (15/03) a new collaboration with the Adi Soemarmo Air Base Air Force Cooperative, or Puskopau, in Solo, Central Java, to provide safe transportation for travelers.
Grab will be the first ride-hailing company to collaborate with the airport in Solo. Adi Soemarmo International Airport will be the fifth airport to have a designated Grab pick-up point after Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Halim Perdana Kusuma in Jakarta, Husein Sastranegara in Bandung and Mahmud Badaruddin II in Palembang.
"We're working together with officials at the Adi Soemarmo International Airport to help guests find safe and comfortable transportation, such as the GrabCar, and help them get to their various destinations in the city of Solo," Grab Indonesia president Ridzki Kramadibrata said in a press release.
"This collaboration shows Grab's support for safe transportation in Solo. Grab has also prepared a special armada for airport guests," Ridzki said.
Col. Indan Gilang, the Adi Soemarmo Air Base Commander, said the cooperation with Grab will make it easier for airport guests to find safe transportation to and from the airport.
"The airport handles thousands of arrivals and departures everyday, and customer satisfaction is our top priority. Grab's presence helps us improve services at the airport," Indan said.
"As airport managers, we wholeheartedly support Grab's collaboration with Puskopau. Solo has a deep cultural heritage that gives it a unique appeal for foreign and local tourists. It's to our advantage, too, that we constantly innovate our services," the airport's operations manager Iwan Novi said.
According to Grab's own data, millions of trips to and from the five aforementioned airports plus the Juanda International Airport in Surabaya have been recorded. The data suggest more and more people are using ride-hailing apps to find transportatiton to and from airports.
A GrabShelter will be built at the Adi Soemarmo airport where travelers can order a ride via the Grab app and wait in comfort to be picked up. They will be charged a predetermined, affordable GrabCar airport rates, the Grab press release said.
