Indonesia Seeks to Attract Japanese Golfers

Jakarta. The Ministry of Tourism will hold the 2017 Indonesia Sales Golf Mission in Katori, Japan, on Thursday (08/06).

According to a statement released on Sunday, the ministry expects to welcome 762,000 Japanese tourists in Indonesia this year.

The ministry sees golf as a new attraction to offer to Japanese visitors and has already appealed to golfers from Tokyo and Osaka.

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said that by bringing Indonesian golf course owners to the land of the rising sun, the ministry also seeks to attract Japanese investors.

Travel agents, players and golf community members will also participate in the Katori event.

The Sales Golf Mission is supported by the Indonesian Embassy, Visit Indonesia Tourism Office and the Indonesian Golf Course Owners Association (APLGI).
