Investree Extends Green Financing Partnership to More Hotels
Jakarta. Investree Radhika Jaya, a peer-to-peer lending marketplace, has announced a second round of green financing partnership with social enterprise Java Mountain Coffee to provide coffee products for Four Seasons Resorts Bali.
Java Mountain Coffee (JMC) offers certified biodegradable coffee capsules filled with farm-fresh Indonesian sustainable coffee for the hospitality sector in Asia. Their goal is to reduce the use of plastic and aluminum coffee capsules in hotels throughout Asia.
The second-round "Working Capital Term Loan" will allow JMC to tap the lucrative market at Four Seasons Resort Bali in Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Resort Bali in Sayan.
Investree has not disclosed the amount of the loan.
"Through this collaboration, we also want to strengthen cooperation in the business-to-business segment and grow the coffee and hospitality industries," Investree co-founder and chief executive Adrian Gunadi said in a statement on Friday.
The partnership also empowers women farmers and seasonal farmworkers as 10 percent of the loan is invested into the Women's Empowerment Innovation Fund.
"We thank Investree for their continued commitment to the empowerment of rural women. This collaboration is helping our advocacy to the travel, tourism and hospitality industry to remove plastic and aluminum coffee capsules from their businesses and replace them with a circular solution," JMC spokeswoman Nadine Alexandra said.
The first round of the Investree-JMC partnership, for a collaboration with Alila Resorts Bali, was announced in June.
Investree is a licensed company that provides interfacing service sites to serve as a liaison between lenders and borrowers through funding from individuals, organizations and legal entities to certain individuals or legal entities.
The company claims it seeks to increase lender gains and to make loans more affordable and accessible to business borrowers, especially small and medium enterprises.
Investree has provided a record total of Rp 2.49 trillion ($174.5 million) in loans by April this year.
In August, Investree partnered up with state-controlled Bank Rakyat Indonesia to provide Rp 200 billion in loans.
