Telkom Ready to Provide ICT Services During Asian Games
Jakarta. Telkom Indonesia, as official telecommunications partner of the upcoming Asian Games, said it is ready for the event, which will be hosted by Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra, between Aug. 18 and Sept. 2.
"This will be the second time Indonesia hosts the Asian Games, also having done so in 1962. This shows that the international community believes Indonesia is more than capable of handling the event. That's why the Telkom Group will do its best and play its part to ensure the event runs smoothly," Dian Rachmawan, Telkom's director of enterprise and business services, said at the company's offices in West Jakarta on Wednesday (01/08).
He said the state-owned communications operator will have 2,700 staff members on duty around the clock during the event.
The company has installed 1,070 internet access points at all Asian Games venues and made 8,700 IndiHome units available for use by athletes. Telkom has also deployed more than 260 additional base transceiver stations in Jakarta and Palembang.
"Telkom is fully committed to provide the best ICT infrastructure and services," Dian said.
