Telkom Reinforces Its Good Corporate Governance Practices
Jakarta. State-owned telecommunications company Telkom Indonesia and the deputy attorney general for civil and administrative affairs signed an agreement on Wednesday on the handling of criminal and civil suits.
Telkom president director Alex Sinaga said he wants Telkom to "be the king of digital innovation in the region," and "lead Indonesian digital innovation and globalization."
To achieve our vision and mission, Telkom has some challenges to overcome; From technology to human resources and legal aspects that can potentially cause us to lose business opportunities," he said.
Therefore, he said, as a state-owned company, Telkom has both a commitment and responsibility to ensure that every step it takes adhere to good governance practices.
Telkom and the deputy attorney general have signed similar agreements in 2013 and 2015, during which the Attorney General's Office provided the company with legal advice and assistance related to internal policies and business practices.
"The agreement between Telkom and the deputy attorney general shows that we both have the same goal, that is to protect state interests," Alex said.
