Telkom Working to Ensure Success of 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings
Jakarta. After successfully providing technology and communications infrastructure during this year's Asian Games, state-owned telecommunications company Telkom Indonesia is now working to ensure the success of the 2018 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group.
Telkom said in a press release on Monday that it was committed to providing innovative telecommunications solutions to participants in the event, which is taking place in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Oct. 8-14.
"Following the success of the Asian Games, Telkom has been appointed to provide information and communication technology for the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings. Around 15,000 people are expected to attend the event, so state-of-the-art and reliable ICT services are needed," said Dian Rachmawan, director of enterprise at Telkom.
The annual event is the world's largest international economics and finance conference, attended by central bank governors and finance ministers from 189 countries, along with academics, nongovernmental organizations and the media.
Telkom has installed high-speed internet gateways and 1,170 high-security Wi-Fi access points at the venue in Bali. The state-owned telecommunications service provider also brought in nine mobile base transceiver stations and set up two command centers – one in Denpasar and another in Jakarta.
