Si.Se.Sa Presents 'Fleuri' Collection for Lebaran
Jakarta. In a couple of weeks, Muslims around the world will celebrate the day of victory after 30 days of fasting during Ramadan. Have you prepared your special wardrobe yet?
As the day of victory, Idul Fitri, signifies absolution from sins and rebirth, plain white attires are often worn on this day. But this year, the premium Muslim fashion brand Si.Se.Sa begs to differ.
On Friday (17/06), they showcased their special Lebaran collection, themed "Fleuri" ("Flowery" in French), at the main showroom of Da Vinci Tower in Jakarta.
The collection consists of 15 long dresses and abayas adorned with floral prints, embroideries and crystals.
"We want to offer something new and different for Lebaran this year," said Sansa Enandera, one of Si.Se.Sa's three designers.
"And the three of us love flowers," added Senaz Nasansia, her sister. "For us, flowers symbolize beauty that rejuvenate the soul. That's why we portray them in our new collection."
Si.Se.Sa was established by three young moms, Siriz Tentani, Senaz Nasansia and Sansa Enandera, in Jakarta in 2011. The three are the daughters of renowned Indonesian Muslim fashion designer Merry Pramono.
The brand specializes in Syari'i Muslim fashion for women, in which the dresses are very loose and non-revealing, and the jilbabs fully cover the chest and derriere areas.
With many stipulations to obey, it is actually quite difficult to create a chic and elegant Syari'i Muslim fashion collection for women. And yet, Si.Se.Sa successfully did this in their "Fleuri" collection.
They infuse elegant femininity into their abayas and dresses with soft pastel colors and ingenious tailoring that flatter the wearers' physiques. Discreet touches of Swarovski crystals adorn most of their items.
"We're one of [Swarovski's] main customers, so we have our crystals custom-made according to our own designs," Senaz said. As seen in the fashion show, their crystals have unique tear and pearl shapes.
Si.Se.Sa's khimars (long jilbabs), made of lightweight silk chiffon, fully cover the head and torso of the models, without bulking them up or stifling their feminine charms.
For their Lebaran collection this year, Si.Se.Sa also presents a couple of sarimbit (uniform Lebaran clothing for the whole family) looks, which consist of a set of outfits for fathers, mothers and their children.
"We don't normally design men's clothing," Senaz said. "But we've been doing it for three consecutive years during Ramadan. And our customers love them."
Adi Wijaya, business development director at Da Vinci Tower, was impressed with Si.Se.Sa's collection presented at Friday's fashion show, which was attended by about 250 female clients.
"Their designs are very innovative," Adi said. "Their dresses are all very Syari'i, modest and elegant."
"We hope the show can inspire women with stylish and elegant Syari'i clothing for Lebaran," Sansa said.
"And we hope many more women would commit to wear Syari'i clothing like we do," Senaz added.
