Winners of Nusantara Restaurant Design Announced at Tourism Awards 2017

Jakarta. Winners of the Nusantara Restaurant Design 2017 competition were announced during the Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Awards, which was held at Bidakara Hotel in Jakarta, on Wednesday (29/09).

The competition summoned designers and architects in Indonesia to design the restaurants located in the government’s 10 priority destinations.

The first winner in Lake Toba (North Sumatra) was Antonius Setha Pramudya, in Tanjung Kelayang (Bangka Belitung) was Yonatan Hartanto and Yessi Anastasia, in Tanjung Lesung (Banten) was Chandra Tri Adiputra, in the Thousand Islands (Jakarta) was Muchammad Ridwan Fauzi, in Borobudur Temple (Central Java) was Rizky Rachmadanti, in Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park (East Java) was Edison Gunawan and Indra Pramana, in Mandalika (West Nusa Tenggara) was Yuristo Maulidan, in Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara) was Ardinanto Prakoso Rudini, in Wakatobi (Southeast Sulawesi) was Calvin Widjaja and Dian Sekar Rini and in Morotai (North Maluku) was Mochammad Ridwan Fauzi.

The competition was initiated by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) and paint manufacturer Propan Raya, while the committee was from Indonesian Architects Association (IAI).

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya the contest aimed to support the tourism development in amenities, which is part of the ministry’s “3A approach” — attractions, accessibility and amenities.

“One of the amenities needed in tourism development is the availability of restaurants. The involvement of local community in the development is important to make them the ‘hosts in their own country’,” Arief said.
