Jakarta. The Indonesian Cycling Federation, or ISSI, has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Italian cycling equipment maker SH+ earlier in the week.
ISSI chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari signed the deal during a visit to the company's headquarters in Cremona, Italy.
The company will supply the Indonesian national team with cycling equipment, such as helmets and glasses.
"We are trusted by sponsors as we represent a great country. As a big country, we should have an attitude like this," Raja said in a statement on Wednesday (05/04).
Cooperation between ISSI and SH+ began during the 2017 Taipei International Cycle Show in March.
Raja said the federation should actively search for sponsors.
"We must continue to make breakthroughs. If we are silent, the sponsors won't come. In Taipei, we met with many manufacturers who are interested in becoming our sponsor after hearing about the potential market in Indonesia," he said.
In addition to the SH+ deal, ISSI is also finalizing partnership agreements with other companies.
"If all the equipment is ready, I hope that athletes can focus more on practicing to improve their performance," Raja said in the statement.
