Indonesia October Motorbike Sales Fall 5.3%

Jakarta. Motorcycle sales in Indonesia fell 5.3 percent in October from a year earlier, data from an industry association showed on Friday (11/11).

Motorbike sales stood at 571,201 units in October, down from 602,882 units sold in the same month last year, but higher than the 555,820 units sold in September.

On a monthly basis, sales were up 2.8 percent. Motorcycles are hugely popular in Southeast Asia's biggest economy and their sales are a key indicator of consumption.

Sales in October were led by Honda Motor, Yamaha Motor and Kawasaki, the data showed.
