Jakarta. The Transportation Ministry plans to issue by this weekend a regulation that will update service and safety standards for all modes of transit including railways, sea and air sectors, in a move to improve the country's transportation system.

The rule would integrate several previous regulations concerning service and safety standards that are scattered across different modes of transport, said Hadi M. Djuraid, a special staff for the transport minister, on Sunday.

Hadi said this regulation can be used as guidance in order to put all airports, seaports, train stations and other centers and structures of transportation under the same standard for safety and service.

The Transportation Ministry conducted a public hearing for the regulation earlier this month, and the regulation is now being registered at the Law and Justice Ministry.
