Jakarta. Indonesia's third president, Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, is currently receiving treatment for a heart condition at Starnberg Clinic near Munich in Germany.
State-run Antaranews.com quoted Habibie's personal secretary, Rubijanto, as saying that the 81-year-old native of Parepare, South Sulawesi, was admitted to hospital due to a leaky heart valve.
"He has been treated at Starnberg Clinic in Germany for three days," Rubijanto said on Saturday (03/03).
He said Habibie had trouble breathing on Tuesday, which was immediately checked by a team of physicians, who later diagnosed him with a leaky heart valve that resulted in a fluid buildup.
The team advised the former president to undergo heart surgery, but he decided to opt for a more advanced medical procedure.
