High School Student Under Fire After Threatening Policewoman
Medan. A high school student who threatened policewoman Second Insp. Perida Panjaitan after she dispersed a convoy of high school students celebrating the of the national exam period in Medan, North Sumatra, is being investigated for harassment.
“I am Arman Depari’s daughter – I’m not joking. I’ll dob you in to my dad. Just watch out, I'll dob you in,” the student allegedly told Perida.
The student, identified as Sonya, claimed to be the daughter of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN)'s deputy for drugs eradication, Brig. Gen. Arman Depari.
“Arman Depari does not have a daughter. He only has three sons, and the student should be punished for showing a lack of respect toward the police force,” lawyer Horas Siagian said in Medan on Wednesday (06/04).
“None of my three children is a girl, I only have sons. They're all in Jakarta. None of them lives in Medan,” Arman has said.
Siagian said the police should not take this issue lightly, as the incident may affect the public's perception of the police.
Hundreds of students celebrated the end of their exams by spraying paint all over their uniform, as Indonesian students commonly do, and then drove through the center of Medan in a convoy of cars.
Perida had stopped the car Sonya and her friends were in during the convoy, as they were driving with the back hood open.
