Jakarta. The National Police's counterterrorism unit, Densus 88, arrested three suspected terrorists in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Saturday (02/06) and seized four bombs they were planning to set off in several locations, including the House of Representatives building in Jakarta.

The suspects are alumni of the Riau University.

"Based on our investigation, it [the bombs] would be detonated at the Provincial Legislative Council and the House of Representatives," Riau Police chief Insp. Gen. Nandang said, as quoted by Antara news agency.

According to Nandang, the bombs were assembled at the university campus, where officers also found other explosives, an air gun, bows and arrows.

National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Setyo Wasito said in a statement that the arrested were named suspects on Saturday night.

"They knew how to make a TATP [triacetone triperoxide] bomb. They shared their knowledge in Telegram groups," Setyo said.

The same substance was used in the suicide bomb attacks that shook Surabaya, East Java, in May.
