Police Drug Raid Nets Thousands of Ecstasy Pills in Bekasi
Bekasi, West Java. Police in East Bekasi, West Java have seized 4,554 pills of ecstasy and 0.5 ounces of crystal meth on Tuesday.
“We see this as the biggest raid of all raids we have ever done,” the head of East Bekasi Police, Adj. Comr. Imam Irawan, said on Monday.
The East Bekasi Police raided the house of an alleged drug deal identified as Amsori in Bojong Rawalumbu Subdistrict, East Bekasi, on Wednesday at 9 p.m. and confiscated drugs estimated to be worth Rp 2 billion ($ 140,000) along with smoking paraphernalia, a scale and a cell phone.
“The ecstasy is Rp 400,000 ($ 28.04) per pill in the market while sabu [street name for crystal meth] is Rp 2 million ($ 140.18) per gram,” Imam added.
Amsori told police he obtained the ecstasy pills from another dealer named Hj. Kodir. The second dealer is now on the run and has been added to the police's wanted list.
