Jakarta. British singer Ed Sheeran will finally get the chance to see his fans in Jakarta when he visits the city as part of his "Divide World Tour 2019" on May 3, concert organizers said on Monday.

Sheeran's first concert in Indonesia will be held at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Around 50,000 fans are expected to attend, said organizers AEG Presents, PK Entertainment and Sound Rhythm.

"We first expected a crowd of around 45,000 but the response has been so enthusiastic, we've provided extra tickets," PK Entertainment marketing director Harry Sudarma said. 

There will be reserved seatings at the concert and no festival class. 

Indonesia is the last country in Asia to be visited by Sheeran on his current world tour. He will bring along his wife and two personal chefs to Jakarta.

Sheeran is known as a pescatarian or seafood eater and is said to be enthusiastic to try traditional Indonesian foods.

"We will serve him Es Campur [mixed fruit ice drink], soursop juice and Lapis Surabaya [layer cake]," PK Entertainment chief executive Peter Hardjani said. 

Sheeran's set on this tour has contained mostly songs from his third album, "÷" (Divide), which was released in early 2017. He also played hits from his 2011 debut, "+" (Plus) and 2014 sophomore album "x" (Multiply).

Since April, the 26-year-old singer has performed in several Asian cities including Taiwan, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Seoul, Osaka and Bangkok. Jakarta is the last leg of his Asian tour. 

Sheeran will then continue touring European cities until August.

Tickets for Sheeran's Jakarta concert are priced at Rp 550,000 ($39) to Rp 2.6 million and are available from Tokopedia until Friday, May 3, at 10 a.m.

1. Don’t bring any of these prohibited items

The following items are not allowed in the concert arena. If found, they will be confiscated: bags larger than 42 cm x 29 cm x 21cm, professional cameras, video and sound recorders, glass containers, bottles/cans, trumpets, drones, laser pointers, selfie sticks or other metal objects, food and drinks not bought at the concert, alcoholic beverages, drugs, cigarettes, matches and lighters, combustible objects or liquids, posters, flags or banners, any kind of weapon and other dangerous objects.

2. Print your e-ticket at home

You will need to print your ticket to exchange it with a concert wristband. It’s less hassle to print your ticket at home. In case you forget, there’s a printing station at the concert venue. But it will cost you Rp 20,000 to print one ticket.

3. Bring your ID card

Your e-ticket will be printed with your name on it, so make sure you bring your ID card to validate it.

4. Prepare e-money for parking

You can only pay for parking at Gelora Bung Karno with e-money. Have a Brizzi or Flazz ready in your wallet and don't forget to top them up. Other car parks are available at FX Sudirman Mall, Fairmont Hotel and Mulia Hotel.

5. Enter from the right gate

To make it easier to navigate the cavernous GBK stadium, organizers have assigned specific gates for different ticket categories. 1, 2A and 2B ticket holders should enter the concert venue from Gate A; 3, 4A and 4B from Gate G; 5A, 5B and 6 from Gate E; walk-ins from Gate 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11.

There will be three shuttle buses to transport ticket holders to their entrance gates.

6. Wear comfortable clothes

It's going to be an outdoor concert, and very humid, so avoid wearing thick tops, heavy shoes or too many accessories. Also, bring a raincoat just in case it rains. We don't want this to be another LaLaLa Fest.

7. Concert starts in time

Sheeran will be on stage at 8 p.m. sharp on on Friday. Japanese rock band One Ok Rock will warm up the crowd from 6.45 p.m.

8. Gates open early

Gates will open at 1 p.m. to avoid crowd congestion, so come early and avoid the queues.
