Jakarta. The International Tour de Banyuwangi Ijen, or ITdBI 2017, in Banyuwangi, East Java, entered its third stage on Sunday (29/09).
Sunday's stage featured a climb from Ikan Muncar Port to Paltuding, one of the craters on Ijen Mountain at a height of 1,880 meters.
Before the race, there was an art performance by local residents and a street float parade.
"This is not only a sports tourism event, but also a way of involving local people to improve the region," Banyuwangi district head Azwar Anas said in a statement.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said there are a lot of local attractions showcased by the tour that should attract more visitors to Banyuwangi.
