Boyzone to Share Stage With Isyana Sarasvati in Jakarta Farewell Concert

Jakarta. Irish boyband Boyzone has been confirmed to include Jakarta in their "Thank You & Goodnight Farewell Tour 2019," with a concert scheduled on Sunday, March 24, at Tennis Indoor Senayan in Gelora Bung Karno, Central Jakarta. Indonesian diva Isyana Sarasvati is set to be the opening act and collaborate with the boyband on stage.
"Thank You & Goodnight Farewell Tour 2019" is set to be the last world tour for Boyzone—whose members are Keith Duffy, Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch—before disbanding after over 25 years together.
"This is an important moment because it will be the last time we get to see a Boyzone concert," David Ananda, managing director at Fullcolor Entertainment, the organizer for Boyzone’s Jakarta concert, said during a press conference at DoubleTree by Hilton in Central Jakarta last week.
Tennis Indoor Senayan, with a capacity of 5,000 people, was chosen as the venue because the band wanted a small, intimate concert where they can interact more with the fans.
Isyana was selected as the opening act by the members of the band. David said he proposed three Indonesian female singers to Boyzone, including Isyana.
"Isyana is academically trained in music. When the Boyzone members saw her performance at an award show, they were impressed," David said.
Isyana will not only open for Boyzone but will perform with the band on stage as well, though what song they will play will be kept as a surprise.
Isyana said she didn't think twice about accepting the invitation to share the stage with the legendary boyband, who are famous for their pop and ballad hits such as "Picture of You" and "Love Me for a Reason."
"When I got the offer, I said yes without even thinking. The opportunity to open for a legendary boyband won’t come twice," Isyana said.
The singer said she loved Boyzone since she was a kid. She became a fan right away after listening to "No Matter What" and "Every Day I Love You"—still her favorite Boyzone songs.
According to Rendy, the owner of Super Sonic Indonesia, which will be in charge of the stage design, the concert will feature a different look from last year’s concerts in Surabaya (East Java), Bandung (West Java) and Yogyakarta.
Fans can also expect a tribute to the late Stephen Gately, the Boyzone member who passed away in 2009 due to a heart condition.
Boyzone will perform on a 16 meters by 10 meters stage. There will be LED screens and pixel effects on the center and the sides of the stage, on which a virtual version of Gately would appear as if he's singing together with his bandmates.
Tickets are still available on Traveloka and www.boyzonejakarta.com starting from Rp 750,000 ($53). There are also meet and greet tickets priced at Rp 2.5 million each, which will allow fans to not only meet the band in person but also attend their soundcheck session.
