Fantasy Series 'Halfworlds' to Return for Second Season With Double Episode
Jakarta. HBO Asia's first original series, the fantasy show "Halfworlds," will return to screens for its second season with a double episode on Sunday, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. Jakarta time.
The second season of "Halfworlds" will feature eight episodes — each an hour long — continuing to unveil the secret world of demons that the series established in the previous season. Renowned Thai director Ekachai Uekrongtham has replaced Indonesian filmmaker Joko Anwar at the helm of the project, and he carries the series from the alleys of Jakarta to the streets of Bangkok.
Featuring a stellar cast from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan, "Halfworlds" follows a researcher named Juliet (Tia Tavee) as she learns to catch the demons that live among mortals. She is looking for an ancient artifact that will grant her a power, but local Thai demons known as Peesaj are determined to stop her from figuring out their world.
Indonesian actors Arifin Putra and Reza Rahadian reprise their role as Halfbreed Barata and Demit Tony in the series.
A new episode of "Halfworlds' will premiere on subsequent Sundays at the same time, culminating with two back-to-back episodes on Feb. 26.
