Jakarta. The Indonesian Student Association, or PPI, of China officially launched the China chapter of Generasi Wonderful Indonesia, or GenWI, at the Bali Bistro restaurant in Shanghai on Saturday (07/10) to promote Indonesian tourism online.

GenWI will help spread photos, videos, graphics and text stories of tourism destinations as well as events in Indonesia on Chinese digital platforms, such as Weibo, WeChat and Youku.

"We're proud to be able to promote Wonderful Indonesia from China, which is currently the country with the highest number of tourist visits to Indonesia," Reynaldo Aprillio, head of PPI and GenWi of China, said in a statement on Monday.

"China is considered strategic as the main market [...] [thus] we have to promote Indonesian tourism, which has become the leading sector and core economy in Indonesia," said Ministry of Tourism secretary Ukus Kuswara.
