Jakarta. Ride-hailing platform Go-Jek is celebrating Ramadan by launching a new campaign on Wednesday (08/06).
The campaign highlights new features across existing services Go Ride, Go Food, Go Clean, Go Send, Go Box and Go Tix.
One of the new features now allows users to send a thank you note—along with a cashless tip via their virtual wallet Go Pay—and buy snacks and beverages for their drivers. This feature will appear once customers give a four or five star rating to the drivers.
Go-Jek is also partnering with Rumah Zakat to allow users to donate to various charities until June 30.
Donations of school uniforms, stationery and Muslim clothes can be made through their Go Send and Go Box features. Go Tix also accepts donations through Go Pay or credit card in multiples of Rp 100,000 ($8).
Speaking at a press event at Letter D restaurant in Jakarta, CEO Nur Efendi said donations from Go-Jek customers will be processed by Rumah Zakat.
"The donations will help fund Rumah Zakat's projects, which include a free maternity hospital, free schools and community programs," he said.
Customers can also buy holiday hampers using the Go Mart feature starting on June 20. Pop-up stores from Unilever and Coca Cola will be available to the service. There will also be options to buy Idul Fitri hampers for orphans and poor families.
Another new service is a Go Clean initiative to clean 100 partner mosques along the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, at airports and the iconic Istiqlal mosque.
During Ramadan, Istiqlal is typically flooded with visitors from outside Jakarta who spend the whole month there to pray and fast.
