Hot Air Balloons Color the Skies Over Wonosobo
Jakarta. The skies over Wonosobo in Central Java were filled with colorful hot air balloons on Sunday (26/11), creating an almost typically European atmosphere.
The effect was further accentuated by cool climatic conditions on the day, which resulted in those present exhaling mist due to condensation.
"This tradition has become characteristic of Wonosobo. A hot air balloon has even become the logo of Wonosobo district," Wonosobo Tourism Agency head One Andang Wardoyo said on Tuesday (28/11).
For safety reasons, the balloons are only allowed to ascend to 25 meters while also remaining anchored to the ground.
Wonosobo has undeniably wonderful natural beauty. The clear air and beautiful scenery make the atmosphere in the district look even more like "Little Europe."
The district also has various tourism destinations, including Dieng, Telaga Warna, Sikunir Hill and numerous waterfalls.
Then there is also Tambi Tea Garden, which is currently being developed as an outbound destination for family vacations.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya has encouraged travelers to Yogyakarta and Semarang to make time to visit Wonosobo and enjoy the scenic beauty.
