Australian fashion designer, Jaimie Sortino, also launched his latest collection "Hymn to the Flora."

Themed "Celebration of Culture," this year's event will highlight the various aspects of Indonesian culture.

President of Indonesia Fashion Week, Poppy Dharsono, said the exhibition aims to bridge the gap between retailers, designers, and consumers. The event also brings together more than 450 small and medium-sized fashion enterprises.

"The fashion industry is one of the largest contributors of Indonesia's economic growth in the creative economy sector. This kind of activity is part of our effort to preserve Indonesian culture but to also support small and medium-sized enterprises to focus on the industry and craft," Poppy said.

Poppy hopes that the event can continue to develop the local fashion industry in Indonesia.

"Hopefully, we can all continue to increase our commitment, synergy and coordination, actively and positively."

Attendees were also able to sample an array of Indonesia's best delicacies at the culinary section at the event. The event also had  fashion booths where fashion enthusiasts can purchase items.

Indonesian Fashion Week 2017 will be held until Sunday.
