Indonesia Sees Potential Transactions Worth Billions at Tourism Bourse Asia
Jakarta. Indonesia recorded potential transactions worth Rp 342 billion ($25.4 million) during International Tourism Bourse Asia 2017 in Singapore on Oct. 24-27.
"This is all thanks to the support of all tourism stakeholders who have worked hard to prepare for the event," Rizki Handayani, the ministry's assistant deputy for Southeast Asia market development, said in a statement.
The transactions consist of 2,280 business appointments and 338,770 tour packages, which were made by 90 Indonesian tourism players during the event.
Packages to Bali contributed 55.34 percent of the potential transactions, followed by West Nusa Tenggara with 5.89 percent, East Nusa Tenggara with 5.25 percent, Jakarta with 3.17.
ITB Asia is a tourism business forum organized by Internationale Tourismus-Borse Berlin, which is the annual biggest travel mart in the world.
The event presented 940 exhibitors from 113 countries, which made approximately 22,000 business appointments.
